What's Behind The Name:

 Damon's House

DAMON: Damon was a young person born with autism. His family realizing the short comings concerning his care hence developed and implemented a program. This program assist persons with autism manage the social anxiety often felt when interacting with others. The program activities helps to break through the wall of isolation person’s with autism often build around themselves for protection. Although Damon's has since passed away his family still continues to Shine a Ray of Hope for other families who have children with autism.

H.O.U.S.E.: (Hands of Understanding Socialization Encounter)

It is our belief that the social encounter and interaction with others causes person with autism to experience feelings of anxiety.  This anxiety is what causes them to act out and display unwanted behavior.  Through our program we provide the opportunity for social interaction in an environment conducive to the specific sensory needs of the person with autism.

In a nut shell Damon’s H.O.U.S.E., simply means Damon’s Hands of Understanding Social Encounter.  Through Damon’s House we offer a program and extends hands that assist the person with autism and their family with managing behavior.  We do not offer a miracle cure; we simply offer practices and techniques that move the individual closer to normalization
